How Long Does THC Stay in Your System

by Grassdoor Sponsored January 27, 2023
How long does THC stay in your system

THC, the primary psychoactive compound found in cannabis, can stay in a person’s system for varying amounts of time depending on a number of factors.

It’s important to understand that THC is stored in fatty tissues, and is released into the bloodstream over time. This means that the length of time that THC stays in a person’s system can depend on their body fat percentage. Generally, people with higher body fat percentages will take longer to metabolize and excrete THC.

The reason why THC is stored in the fatty tissues is that THC is lipophilic, which means that it is attracted to fats and oils. Because THC molecules are attracted to fats, they tend to accumulate in fatty tissues, where they can remain for extended periods of time.

Another factor that can affect how long THC stays in a person’s system is the frequency of use. Someone who only uses cannabis occasionally will likely have THC in their system for a shorter period of time compared to someone who uses cannabis regularly.

It’s also worth noting that the longer THC stays in the body, the more likely it is to be stored in the fatty tissues. This is why heavy users may test positive for THC for up to 30 days or more, while infrequent users may test negative within a few days.

The method of consumption also plays a role in how long THC stays in a person’s system. THC is metabolized differently when consumed through smoking or vaporizing as opposed to when it is consumed through edibles. Smoked or vaporized THC is absorbed quickly into the bloodstream, and can be detected in urine within a few hours of use. THC consumed through edibles, on the other hand, is absorbed more slowly and can take several hours to be metabolized.

The most common forms of THC testing

Urine tests are the most common method for detecting THC, and the length of time that THC can be detected in urine depends on the frequency of use. For infrequent users, THC can be detected in urine for up to 3-4 days after use. In regular users, it can be detected for up to 10-15 days. Lastly in heavy users, THC can be detected in urine for up to 30 days or more.

Blood tests are also used to detect THC, but are less common than urine tests. THC can be detected in the blood for a shorter period of time compared to urine, usually up to 24-48 hours.

Hair tests can detect THC for up to 90 days, however this is not the most used method.

Many factors contribute to how long THC stays

It’s worth noting that there are a number of factors that can affect how long THC stays in a person’s system, and that the information provided here is general and may not apply to every individual. If you have any concerns about THC showing up in a drug test, it’s best to speak with a healthcare professional.

So there you have it, THC can stay in a person’s system for varying amounts of time depending on their body fat percentage, frequency of use, method of consumption, and the type of test used. Infrequent users may be able to test negative within a few days, while heavy users may test positive for up to 30 days or more.

    FAQ

Infrequent users may be able to test negative within a few days, while heavy users may test positive for up to 30 days or more.

What is the best way to get THC out of your system?

The best way to get THC out of your system is to stop consuming cannabis and allow your body to naturally metabolize and excrete the THC. Drinking plenty of water and exercising can also help speed up the process.

Can drinking water flush THC out of your system?

Drinking water can help speed up the process of metabolizing and excreting THC, but it will not completely flush THC out of your system.

Can THC be detected in hair tests?

Yes, hair tests can detect THC for up to 90 days.

Can using certain products or supplements help to get THC out of your system?

There are a number of products and supplements on the market that claim to help flush THC out of your system, however their effectiveness is not scientifically proven. The best way to get THC out of your system is to stop consuming cannabis and allow your body to naturally metabolize and excrete the THC.

What is the difference between a urine test and a blood test for THC?

Urine tests are the most common method for detecting THC, and can detect THC for up to 10-15 days for regular users and up to 30 days or more for heavy users. Blood tests are less common, but can detect THC for a shorter period of time, usually up to 24-48 hours.

It is important to note that these are general answers and the results may vary in each individual case. Consult a healthcare professional if you have any concerns about THC showing up in a drug test.

The Beginners Guide to Smoking Cannabis

by David Gonzalez December 8, 2022
Looking for some tips to help you through your first cannabis experience? Watch the video here!

In this week’s segment, join host David as he walks us through a beginner’s guide to smoking cannabis for the first time. Having the right approach, such as taking it slow, can often lead to an enjoyable first time. We go over the do’s and don’ts, along with some personal experience notes from David himself! Thanks for checking out the video and as always stay toasty!

Smoking cannabis for the first time, we got you!

If you haven’t smoked cannabis before and are curious about trying it for the first time, this guide is definitely for you. We’ll cover everything from how to smoke it, how to avoid getting paranoid, what to do when you get the munchies and what to expect. This will be a two-part series, so make sure to subscribe to catch the next one that you don’t want to miss out on.

    Preparation is key

Cannabis can be one of the best experiences you’ve ever had or plain and boring. Mine was really confusing, actually. The first four times were really confusing for me. However, that all depends on how you prepare, what kind of cannabis you use, and how much.

    Smoke at your own pace

If you want to have an easy, fun and probably one of the best first-time highs ever keep reading and we’ll try and help you have one you’ll never forget. Most people will try to direct you in a way that, in all fairness, seems fun and tailored to THEIR smoking experiences. However, these individuals may have been smoking for years and don’t know that this is your first time.

Smoking for the first time should be fun

Smoking cannabis for the first time should be and is often quite fun. Honestly, I didn’t get high the first time I smoked. I started noticing the effects after about the fourth or fifth time I tried it. The point here is that if you’re scared, you shouldn’t be. I also don’t blame your fear because for as long as cannabis has been cannabis, it’s gotten a bad rap from every single angle and aspect imaginable. But here’s the thing, The cannabis industry is growing faster than any other industry in the world and with that comes the fall of stigmas and myths.

    Cannabis is becoming more mainstream

When new advancements in technology comes new evidence that backs up the benefits of cannabis and what it might do for you. So if you’re looking to jump onto the Toasty Express, here are a few tips for you for your first ride.

    Tip #1 Start simple

Don’t worry about the bongs, the pipes, the shatters, the oil, all that stuff, you’re going to get confused. All you need is a simple joint. This simple little meager stick of wonders can make your life so much better.

    Tip #2 Take your time

You’re going to get people left and right telling you how to hit it, what you should hit it with, how to do it, when to do all this stuff and all that good jazz. That’s all good, however, this is your first go. Find what is right for you and take your time. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t listen to other people in their recommendations, but this is your first go. It should be something that you feel comfortable with. If you feel like one or two hits is more than enough, then that’s what it is.

    Tip #3 Choose your strain

Picking a strain in our current environment can be a very daunting task, especially if you know nothing about cannabis, let alone the types there are. You should first know that there are three main types of cannabis indica, sativa and hybrids. Secondly is that there are no bad strains of cannabis. There are, however, some that might not be best for your first time. For example, a high-THC strain may not be the best choice if you want something calming and relaxing. In that case, you should go with a smaller THC percentage or strain with more CBD than THC.

    Some great strains for beginners

A few excellent strains for beginners would be blue dream, wedding cake, super lemon haze or sour OG. These strains are viral for a reason. Most veterans in the game of cannabis started out with these strains and they were easy to ride along with, making them making the experience much more enjoyable.

    Cannabis shouldn’t be stigmatized

Cannabis shouldn’t be stigmatized, especially in our current environment, and even more now with the amount of evidence that’s coming out every single day. In my personal opinion, it should be seen as an excellent alternative to some modern medicines that do more harm than good. That’s just my opinion. I’m your boy, David, hitting you up from the Grassdoor headquarters saying, I’ll catch you guys later. Grassdoor out.

How Cannabis Works with the Endocannabinoid System

by David Gonzalez November 29, 2022
How Cannabis Works with the Endocannabinoid System, check out this weeks video and find out!

    What is the endocannabinoid system?

What is the endocannabinoid system and how does it work with cannabis? The endocannabinoid system or the E.C.S for short, consists of naturally occurring, lipid-based neurotransmitters, cell receptors and molecules that, when interacting with cannabinoids found in cannabis, have a wide range of effects. Molecules in the ECS let you feel good, control pain and other sensations, and affect moods. These molecules work together by keeping your body stable and healthy at homeostasis, a steady balance state where all the systems work correctly.

The endocannabinoid system is linked to most body functions

The E.C.S. is directly linked to most of the body’s functions and can also be considered as a mini-brain affecting many central nervous system parts. The brain stems which regulate balance, the spinal cord which sends out signals from the brain, amygdala, the hippocampus where memories form, and the cerebral cortex where higher thinking occurs. It also connects these areas with other organs, such as your blood vessels or reproductive organs.

What happens when you introduce cannabis?

When you introduce THC into the system, it interacts with your E.C.S by binding to receptors like endocannabinoids and throws a kick ass party by allowing it to have a range of effects on your body and mind. For example, THC may help you reduce pain, help you with sleep, or even stimulate appetite along with many other effects. This is why cannabinoids are often used to treat ailments and even forms of cancer.

    Enodcannabinoid system is misunderstood

The endocannabinoid system is one of the most misunderstood systems in the human body. The medical community is still trying to figure out how the components of cannabis interact with the endocannabinoid system.
Still, it’s clear that the plant offers a variety of medical benefits when used correctly and in dosages. We hope you enjoyed learning about the E.C.S and what cannabis can do for you. Even if you’re not a fan of pot, There’s still a lot to learn from this amazing plant in all aspects of body, mind and life. The best part is there’s even more benefits that we didn’t even cover here. If you found this article helpful, share it with someone who’s interested in the future of medical cannabis

Know Your Cannabis Grow – Huckleberry Hill Farms

by Lindsay MacEwan November 2, 2022
Grassdoor now your cannabis grow - Huckleberry Hill Farms
Join Grassdoor host Lindsay as she give a virtual tour of Huckleberry Hill Farms! Watch the video here!

Join Grassdoor cannabis expert Lindsay as she takes you on a virtual farm tour of Huckleberry Hill Farms. Located in Southern Humboldt County, part of the legendary Emerald Triangle, known to have the ideal combination of climate and soil for optimal cannabis production. Lindsay is joined by Founder Johnny Casali as he shows us what makes Huckleberry Hill Farms’ picturesque landscape the ideal place to cultivate premium cannabis. See for yourself how truly in tune with nature a modern cannabis operation can be. Know your cannabis grow!

    Lindsay:
Hello everyone I’m Lindsay from Grassdoor today we are in the iconically beautiful County of Humboldt, California. I’m here with Johnny from Huckleberry Hill Farms. Johnny thank you for having us.

    Johnny:
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to come here and to see our farm. I know it’s a long way and it means so much to us that you’re taking the time to truly understand what we’re trying to do here.

    Lindsay:
Of course it’s an honor. I feel as though even if you don’t know anything about cannabis you’ve heard about Humboldt. I’m just curious why why do you think that is?

Cannabis bud at Huckleberry Hill Farms

    Johnny:
That goes back you know as far as I can remember. It goes back 40 years to be to be honest, and it leads back to really where we’re at today with legalization. So many small farmers in the Emerald Triangle, and specifically Southern Humboldt County, had to evade law enforcement and had to fight for the the meaning of this plant. We fought for the medicinal value that this plant is now providing so many different consumers. It’s our hope that we get to share our lives work with the consumer and that maybe we can heal some of their ailments. Maybe help people get a good nights sleep. Eventually, perhaps, we can cure cancer with some of our legacy genetics.

Genetics that thrive in Southern Humboldt

    Lindsay:
What type of genetics would you say thrive in this microclimate?

    Johnny:
The reason we’re growing my family’s genetics here still today is because these strains that we’ve created over the last 40 years grow better here on this property than any other place in the world. I’ve tried to grow them on the east side of the county and they don’t do as well. However, this is a special and unique microclimate where we get an influence from the fog from the ocean that comes over those mountains.

We lose light at six or seven o’clock at night, earlier than a lot of the higher elevation farms. It’s taken us years of making mistakes to really hone in those strains that thrive the best here. Whitethorn Rose, Mom’s Weed and Amalfi are strains that we created here from a strain I used to grow with my mother when I was 10 years old.

    Challenges due to climate

    Lindsay:
Outdoor growing really is puts you up against so many challenges. I feel that’s due to the climate. What would you say are your biggest challenges in this microclimate?

    Johnny:
I think in part of the reasons we developed some of these strains that finish earlier like the Whitethorn Rose which is done September 15th. Fruit Loops is usually done early September. We’ve actually grown those here on this property because we lose light earlier in the season, around mid-September. We don’t get a whole lot of light here, plus we’re always growing according to the weather patterns. We used to get inches and inches of rain back in the 80’s and so we had to actually get our crops out earlier in order to avoid mold and different types of crop loss. That is why we grow in the strains we do in this region.

Petunias interwoven with cannabis plants at Huckleberry Hill Farms

    Lindsay:
Johnny, all of these petunias are gorgeous. Is there any particular reason why you have them interwoven with the plants?

    Petunias as indicators

    Johnny:
I really I use them as an indicator when the cannabis plant might need to be fed or might be experience some kind of problem. To be honest I just love the beauty. I love the feel of the petunias and really what it adds to the farm and that’s the honest truth.

    Lindsay:
I love that as an indicator. They are beautiful indicators.

    Johnny:
People come to the Emerald Triangle to Southern Humboldt for some of the world’s best cannabis, but they move here for this community. We always had to rely on this community for support. Really we had to risk our lives with each other and so we’ve built a bond like no other. We’re still standing here today sharing our craft cannabis with the world.

    Humboldt County, California

    Lindsay:
The endocannabinoid system, which everyone has in their body, is very similar to the pH balance in your body. Not one person is the same. It really is a matter of being able to find out what you like. Not letting potency be the thing that draws you to that next experience. If you tried something that was high THC it wasn’t necessarily the high potency that gave you that desirable experience.

A big challenges for small farmers

    Johnny:
Great way to put that. That’s the biggest challenge for us now as small farmers because the marketplace is really saying high THC. However, we’re looking towards our consumer really wanting them to learn more and more about us and about Grassdoor, who who has similar values as a small farmer. Trying to slowly educate people that maybe you should look a little deeper. Perhaps there’s a little bit more to this this magical plant than high THC. Experiment around and figure it out for yourself, and really find out what magic there lies in the plant.

    Know your grow!

    Lindsay:
Is there was one thing you wanted to translate out to everyone who’s enjoying cannabis today?

    Johnny:
Until you get to know your farmer, it’s a tough question to answer. I want them to know that we’re doing what we do farm out of love. We’re doing this what we’re doing on this farm because it’s the first time in our lives we’ve been able to share our life’s passion. It isn’t about the money, and I know that’s hard to believe, it’s about interacting with the consumer. It’s about developing relationships with people outside of this farm. I just want to heal whatever ailments they have and give them the best possible experience. That’s the that’s the truth of the matter.

    Terpenes + Aromatherapy = Awesome!

by David Gonzalez November 1, 2022
What are terpenes? Watch the video and get a basic understanding here!

What are terpenes and what do they have to do with cannabis and aromatherapy? Join host David as he gives us an introduction to what terpenes are and also how they can be used and enjoyed. Terpenes in cannabis effect flavor and aroma, so understanding what terpenes correspond with what flavor profile can help you find the perfect strain for you! Terpenes + Aromatherapy = Awesome!

    Terpenes as aromatherapy?

I’m gonna let you In on a little secret. Did you know that you can actually use terpenes as aromatherapy? What? You already knew that? In this cannabis environment, you may have heard of the term terpenes and not just THC and CBD. It may seem like terpenes, is just one of those other confusing words that get thrown around while you’re at smoke shops. Terpenes are the indicators of flavors and aromas in the world of cannabis.

Terpenes are found in the oils of plants

Terpenes can actually be used for aromatherapy and not just taste and smells. They are actually a class of organic compounds found in many plants that play a role in determining the plant’s effect on consumers. Giving plants distinctive flavors and smells that are partially responsible for the high we get when we consume them. Found in the oils of plants and trees, terpenes have been used for centuries as natural food additives, flavorings and fragrances. All with unique scents and tastes.

    Aromatherapy to help manage stress

With cannabis aromatherapy, you can find many remedies for many ailments. Aromatherapy is a great way to manage stress, anxiety and depression without using pharmaceuticals. Aromatherapy can also help you sleep better at night by helping you relax and unwind after a long day. When inhaled, terpenes can help you open up the airways so more oxygen reaches your bloodstream allowing you to breathe more easily. This can help ease asthma symptoms, allergies, and respiratory distress caused by conditions like COPD.

How to get your Terp on

It is important to note that terpenes are volatile hydrocarbons that evaporate at room temperature. Therefore, they must be inhaled to be effective and to do so, here are a few ways to get your terp on!

    Tip #1 Aromatherapy Diffusers

Aromatherapy diffusers are machines use heat to evaporate the essential oils from your favorite cannabis strains so that it can diffuse into the air to be inhaled. You can add a few drops of your favorite terpene oil to these devices for a relaxing effect.

    Tip #2 Vaporizers

If you’re looking for a more direct way of inhaling cannabis terpenes, consider using a vaporizer instead of smoking or eating it. This allows you to control how much THC is in your lungs at any given time. Since terpenes aren’t psychoactive like THC, they won’t make you high but was still affect your mood and well being.

    Tip #3 Topicals

In case that you have a headache or need some kind of pain relief. Terpenes can be applied topically. Just apply a drop of your favorite strain terpene oil directly onto your temples or your neck where it will be absorbed through the skin. You can also add it under the tongue for a much faster relief effect.

    Enjoy Responsibly

The cannabis industry is growing rapidly and with the advent of legal cannabis, and you can now view the entire extraction process. In other words, the use of cannabis is spreading like wildfire in so many ways and there are many ways to enjoy aside from smoking it. I would recommend you taking this knowledge a little further and engaging in your own experimentation to determine what kind of aroma therapy benefits you prefer. With cannabis it is essential to enjoy your products responsibly. With all that being said, I hope you enjoyed today’s segment. I’m your boy, David hitting you up from the Grassdoor headquarters saying, I’ll catch you guys later, Grassdoor … out!

    Grassdoor Interview – POSIBL

    Lindsay:
I’m Lindsay I’m from Grassdoor and today we are here with Jesus from possible we’re in the beautiful county of Salinas California. It’s warm and we’re here in this greenhouse. I see lights, I see these babies are really happy and I feel like we have a lot to talk about.

    Jesus:
I can’t wait to show you around some of the cool things we got going on.

We start very few things from seed most of what we start is through cuttings or clones. The reason why we do that is, if we were to start by seed we’d be brothers and sisters. We might have the same mom or dad but my brother might be a foot taller or a foot shot shorter than me, he might have curly hair. What we’re ultimately looking for in large-scale cultivations is consistency. We want every plant to be the same height so we’re actually trying to create something that is identical. Everything about the the plant is about developing the root system. Another way to think about this is how you feed a newborn baby, you can’t hand it a piece of meat and some veggies and expect to eat. The baby doesn’t have teeth. So what do you do? You feed it through a water bottle or you know through a milk bottle. You’re allowing it to feed at the best rate it can.

A farm that runs like a factory

POSIBL basically runs like a factory. It’s all about not having downtime in a greenhouse, so we want to harvest and the next day we want to move in plants. This means we of the clones that we’ve taken we know exactly what route they’re gonna go. Three months from now, if you look at our schedule, we’re basically taking clones every other day. We’re taking cuts from a plant that are ultimately going to end up somewhere along the process in cultivation. A lot of the strains and genetics that are available now is because there’s a breeder community that push those things forward for generations and generations. What this allows us to do is to give back to that community and we’re able to produce some of those genetics at scale and pay a royalty to those Legacy breeders.

    Grassdoor Cannabis Delivery

    Lindsay:
Love that you’re doing that. There’s so much to be said about the legacy of all of the genetics and where all that stems from. Where are we without our genetics? It’s a very important part.

    Not like big AG

    Jesus:
That is part of what makes cannabis so interesting it’s not like big AG(agriculture). There are maybe three or four strains of tomatoes or grapes that everybody grows. You know what a Gala apple is because everybody grows it and you can find it in every Supermarket. However, with cannabis you’ll find this in our library and we have about 50 different genetics that we will grow along with things that are in R&D. Menus are constantly evolving, there’s really not a lot of things that last in our menu more than a year so.

    Grassdoor Cannabis Delivery

    Lindsay:
Looking throughout the farm I see there’s a lot of different plants that are interwoven. They’re definitely not cannabis. Tell me why you’ve got all these plants in here?

    Jesus:
Don’t worry we’re not in the flash pepper business quite yet. This is really has to do with the way we fight pest and diseases. In legal cannabis we don’t have access to traditional pesticides that a lot of big AG would use. In many ways legal cannabis is much cleaner than organic. We get tested for things like pesticides in a parts per billion. Much more stringent than even organic food that you would buy in Whole Foods, per se. That forces us to fight pests and diseases through nature. These are actually banker plants which helps raise colonies of good beneficial insects that will then go attack the pest and diseases that attack cannabis.

    Fighting nature with nature

    Lindsay:
I love that fighting nature with nature. This is a greenhouse technically right? I think there’s some confusion because I see lights and a lot of people don’t think “lights” when they hear greenhouse. Tell me a little bit about what’s the supplemental lighting all about.

    Jesus:
Really it’s about being able to push the plant to its maximum expression. What we’re doing here is taking the best of both worlds. We’re taking the natural elements that you can get out of a great climate zone using available sunlight. Then also adding technology to be able to push the plant to its maximum amount of light that it can absorb.

    Processing cannabis

    Lindsay:
There’s a lot going on in this room. What what goes on in here?

    Jesus:
This is our processing facility. Everything after greenhouse post harvest happens in this room. On any given day we’ll be deleafing plants from a harvest. We have our dry room in the back which is where we’ll immediately put the plants after harvest day. We’re also trimming all the beautiful flower and ultimately we will end up getting packaged into different products for folks. There are a lot of folks that work in this facility. It runs two shifts eight hours each so there’s close to 100 people that work in this facility. uh trimming packaging and harvesting plants.

    Grassdoor Cannabis Delivery

    Lindsay:
This is the last touch the hand trimming.

Jesus thank you so much for the tour today. I can say with certainty that everything I’ve seen and everything you’re doing with so much care to what you’re putting into the plants here. One of our biggest things that we focus on at Grassdoor is ensuring that the quality of what we bring to our customers is the best of the business. I feel so grateful to have seen the POSIBL facility because it solidifies the fact that quality is exactly what we have here.

    Jesus:
No, thank you. It was my pleasure to host Grassdoor. It takes a village and so we can’t put this out without a great partner as well to put in the hands of people. Grassdoor is a company that we are super stoked to be work working with. Thank you.

8 Tips to Bring Your High Down – 1/2

by David Gonzalez October 7, 2022
8 tips to bring your high down
Join Grassdoor host David as he walks us through the first four tips to bring your high down. Watch video here.

This week Grassdoor host David shows us some tips that can possibly bring your high down and help you relax through that “too toasty” cannabis experience. These tips are designed to to set your mind at ease and are simple to remember. Helping you ride it out the experience and bring you back down to Earth.

You’ve gotten too high, now what?

You’ve been out with your friends all night having a great time. You blaze a few joints and you are now toasty living life. About an hour later, you smoke another two joints. Because… Why not? Then you eat half an edible. Forget you ate it. Eat a bit more. Your buddy offers you a dab, you take six. Now you’re so beyond toasty that you are seeing everything in super slo mo. You’re freaking out because bananas are talking to you for some reason and you realize you’re just way too high! It’s one of the worst feelings in the world. Nobody wants to be so high that they feel like they’re losing control are gonna a pass out, or worse, die. But you’re not going to die, nobody ever has.

Do not fear, we’ve got some great tips

But never fear, you can still make it through. There are plenty of ways to sober you up and prevent going too far down the rabbit hole, or in this case, way too far up and bring you back down to earth. In today’s segment, we’re going to share a few tips with you to bring you back down from Mars and hopefully steady you out to have a much more enjoyable ride.

    Tip number one, Hydrate

Drinking water is a simple way to bring your body back down to its normal state. If you’re dehydrated and have taken one too many blunts to the head, you’re bound to hit a level 30 on the high Richter scale. You can drink something that has electrolytes. A Gatorade or a smoothie instead of water. The nutrients and minerals in these drinks help replace what’s lost while high like sodium potassium chloride, which help regulate blood pressure and heart rate. You can also drink coconut water, a V8 or a protein shake, which helps keep hunger at bay longer, So you won’t overeat later to compensate for missing calories during your trip or whatever works for you. Just drink something if you don’t want to get super faded.

Tip number two, Take a Nap

When you’re high, the only thing that can seem to make you feel better is taking another hit. Maybe that’s true, but a nap can be just as effective. A nap is awesomely powerful, to level you out a bit. You’ll be sleeping when the effects of cannabis wear off. So hopefully you’ll wake up feeling more clearheaded and nap will let your body rest, which will help your mind relax and make it easier for you to fall asleep later if you didn’t go past 30 minutes. So if you’re super toasty, make sure you get a 30 minute shut eye session.

    Tip number three, Eat Something

If you want to sober up from being way too Bob Marley, eat something. The best thing to eat is a sandwich or a salad. Now you could eat anything that you want, but try eating something healthy with like protein, carbs, some fat,, fiber, leafy greens and vitamins. A good rule of thumb is, if the ingredient list doesn’t sound like they’re coming off a bag of chips, it’ll probably make you feel better than eating another bowl of Cheetos.

Tip number four, Go for a Walk

This one is really easy, going for a walk. When you are way beyond toasty, the world can seem much bigger than it is. The rugs get a little longer and more romantic than anyone could ever imagine, or everything in your room seems to be conspiring against you. Fortunately, a few things can help you ease your mind, and they don’t even involve being sober. If you feel like getting up and moving around will help clear some of those hazy thoughts, try taking a walk around your neighborhood or just even stepping outside for a bit. You could also visit someone who isn’t feeling as high as you are at the moment, or vice versa, and spend some time doing something fun with them, like watching an episode of Parks and Rec or taking a stroll to the park. The point is to get your body moving.

    We’re here to help

Hopefully these tips help you bring you down from this stratosphere and make you feel a bit better in your high. Remember that this will be a two part series, so make sure you come back for those in which one of those involves sacrificing a goat! And like always, with all that being said, I hope you enjoyed today’s segment, I’m your boy David hitting you up from the Grassdoor headquarters saying, I’ll catch you guys later. Grassdoor… out!

Are Cannabis Stereotypes Real or BS? Watch the video here to find out!

There has been a lot of discussion in recent years about the effects of cannabis on consumers. Particularly, the stereotype that cannabis consumers are lazy and unmotivated. However, more and more research is showing that this idea is simply not true. In fact, there is mounting evidence that cannabis actually makes people more active. This week host David walks us through where this myths origin and what you should and shouldn’t do while you are enjoying cannabis. Finally answering the question as to whether cannabis stereotypes are real.

Feeling lazy? It might just be you

What are you doing? I’m pretending to eat because I’m lazy and unmotivated. Wouldn’t that take much more effort to pretend than to actually eat? whatever…

There’s been a lot of discussion in recent years about the effects of cannabis on users, particularly the stereotype that cannabis smokers are lazy and unmotivated. But more and more research is showing that this idea is just not true. In fact, there’s mounting evidence that cannabis actually makes people more active. The stereotype that cannabis smokers are lazy and unmotivated is a myth, and users are no more likely to be lazy or unmotivated than non-users, according to a new research published in the Journal of Psychology and Addictive Behaviors.

    Stereotypes debunked by Brown University

The first study, a meta analysis by researchers at Brown University, included data from 23 previous studies with more than 300,000 participants. The research team found that those who consumed cannabis were as likely to be as active as non-users, meaning that if you’re an active person, you’ll continue to be an active person. Another study of a large scale survey of over 100,000 Americans aged 50 and older also showed a lack of difference between cannabis users and non-users in terms of physical activity, levels of exercise and participation.

Stereotypes were created from negative narratives

Again, no difference between these two studies. When it came to levels of physical activity, either during periods when they’re using cannabis recreationally or when to abstain altogether from it. So where does this idea come from? Well, from an old and quite negative history of the plant, starting in 1906, just marijuana. The burning weed with its roots in hell and officially outlawed by Harry Anslinger in 1937, which she also attached a racist narrative with the plant and Mexican immigrants.

    Mainstream media perpetuates stereotypes

Over time, this just grew and grew getting into the mainstream media, where the cultivation of the lazy, dumb stoner further matured and finally end up where we have it today. Cannabis has many effects and it does have the potential to make you feel a little lazy. However, that’s only based on the individual. Additionally, various strains also have different effects because they contain various amounts of THC, CBD and different concentrations of sedative or stimulating terpenes meaning that when you’re using cannabis, it’s almost like a fun guessing game because you’re trying to see what’s going to happen under that kind of strain. You know what I’m saying?

    Most importantly be safe

But in the end, ask yourself what you can and can’t do while you’re toasty and then go from there. Can I read while I’m toasty? Yup. Can I workout while I’m toasty? Yup. Can I ride my bike while I’m toasty? No. And like always, with all that being said, I hope you enjoyed today’s segment. I’m your boy, David, hitting you up from the Grassdoor headquarters saying, I’ll catch you guys later. Grassdoor…out!
